Mendix Closes $13M Series A Financing

Mendix, a Boston, MA-based and Rotterdam, The Netherlands-based provider of PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) platform that supports companies in developing, deploying and integrating business apps, closed a $13m Series A financing.

The round was led by Prime Ventures, with participation from existing investor HENQ Invest.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its global sales efforts, building upon its partner network and user community.

Founded in 2005 by Derek Roos (CEO), Roald Kruit and Derckjan Kruit (CFO/COO), Mendix offers a solution (Mendix Agile Business Platform) designed to help teams plan, develop, deploy and manage custom applications that integrate with existing systems. It provides organizations with tools to collaborate, speed up development, and harness feedback from end users.

Customers include GE, Genzyme and TNT.

In conjunction with the funding, Prime Ventures’ Roel de Hoop will join the company’s Board of Directors.

Mendix also has offices in the  UK and South Africa.
