DeviceAnywhere Acquired by Keynote Systems for $60M

Mobile Complete Inc., a San Mateo, CA-based developer of a cloud-based platform for testing and monitoring mobile websites and apps which trades as DeviceAnywhere, has been acquired by Keynote Systems (NASDAQ:KEYN) for approximately $60m.

Umang Gupta, Chairman and CEO of the buyer, hopes that the addition of DeviceAnywhere’s solutions will enable Keynote to establish itself as a leader in the mobile testing and monitoring markets.

Founded in 1995, Keynote delivers testing, monitoring and measurement products and services for any enterprise including online portals, e-commerce sites, B2B sites, mobile operators and mobile infrastructure providers. The resulting product enhancement is expected to improve its competitive position.

DeviceAnywhere, which was backed by Innovacom and Motorola Ventures, provides cloud-based products and services for testing and monitoring the functionality, usability, performance and availability of mobile apps and websites. Its platform is used by more than 1,200 organizations.

Following the close of the transaction, which is expected to close in the next two weeks, subject to customary conditions, DeviceAnywhere will continue to be led by co-founders Faraz A. Syed, CEO, and David J. Marsyla, CTO, and will operate as a standalone subsidiary.
