CrowdOptic Raises $500k

CrowdOptic, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of crowd-powered enterprise mobile solutions, has raised $500k in new funding.

The company plans to use the capital to accelerate product development in the area of mobile-powered technology for live events and to expand event security features of its platform.

Launched in September, CrowdOptic’s analytics platform detects in real time where crowds are focused based on the fans’ use of their smart phones.
The technology, which alerts event producers in real time to sudden shifts and anomalies in crowd attention patterns, supports extensive capabilities for real-time advertising, broadcasting, and communication during live events, including augmented reality displays.

The company is led by:
– Chief Executive Officer Jon Fisher
– Chief Product Officer Jeff Broderick
– Chief Financial Officer Tony Wu
– Chief Scientist Gerald Fisher
