CouponTrade.com, a Chicago-based online marketplace where consumers can buy and sell gift cards and daily deals, as well as find coupons for popular online retailers, has raised funding from Jeff Cantalupo’s Listen, LLC.
The company intends to use the new funds to continue to expand its reach.
Co-founded in the spring of 2011 by CEO George Bousis and COO Brad Wasz, CouponTrade helps consumers find deals in their area, from restaurant to spa trips, offers discounted gift cards to stores, and sell the deals they don’t want to use anymore.
The company currently has 22 employees and has raised $2.4m in seed capital. The first round of funding was secured by the Bousis’ family, who owns and operates Chicago-based grocery chain Cermak Fresh Market.
