CallmyName Completes $6M Second Funding with Canaan Partners

CallmyName, a Nicosia, Cyprus-based mobile startup company, completed a $6m second funding round with Canaan Partners.

The company intends to use the capital to expand globally as well as to further develop its SIM technology for dialing names via mobile devices.

Founded in 2007 and led by CEO Ariel Efrati, CallmyName allows businesses to advertise their brands (or product) as call-names to be identified and more easily reached by their clients. It can be used by individuals, as well. Both individuals and businesses can choose a meaningful call name comprised of letters, digits and symbols in any sequence, combination, language or length.

The company, which has signed contracts with SIM manufacturers whom are expected to implement the new technology in their SIM card assembly lines, is negotiating with other operators and device manufacturers in several countries. It has offices in Israel, Russia and UK.
