Renovus Capital Partners, an education-focused private equity firm based outside of Philadelphia, PA, has received the Small Business Investment Company license from the U.S. Small Business Administration and has raised $100m for its debut fund, including matching leverage from SBA.
Founded in January 2010 by Bradley Whitman, Atif Gilani and Jesse Serventi, Renovus intends to make control-oriented buyout or other high growth investments in small to mid-sized education companies.
The fund will invest in ten to twelve platform companies within the five core sectors of the education industry:
– Schools,
– Training,
– Content,
– Technology and
– Services.
The firm has also added William Landman (CMS Companies, Inc.) and Frederick Hill to its investment team.
