Studiekring Receives Majority Equity Investment from Gimv

Studiekring, a Utrecht, the Netherlands-based provider of tutoring for primary and secondary students, has received a majority equity investment of undisclosed amount from Gimv.

Besides acquiring existing shares, Gimv is also providing capital, which will enable Studiekring to continue to grow. According to a written statement, the company aims to double in size over the next few years, in terms of branches, turnover and cash flow.

Following the transaction, Studiekring’s founders and co-CEOs Reinier and Ivo Richaers will continue to hold the remaining shares.

Founded in 2000, Studiekring provides tutoring, student coaching and examination training. It currently has over 50 branches throughout the Netherlands with almost 600 employees.
