reach.ly Closes Angel Round of Funding

reach.ly, a Riga, Latvia-based startup that provides a direct marketing tool that allows hotels to identify potential guests in real time and communicate with them one-to-one, has closed an angel round of funding of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Andris Berzins, Stanford MBA and former executive at London-based Livebookings and Silicon Valley company AeroScout, Inc.

The company intends to use the funds to develop the core Twitter stream text mining and semantic analysis algorithms, which are designed to extract tweets in which Twitter users write about travelling to particular cities in the near future and allows Hotel marketers to view these specific tweets in real time, engage in a conversation and send offers directly to potential guests.

Led by CEO Ernests Stals, reach.ly plans future applications of its technology for a range of travel-related searches, including car rentals and airline tickets.
