Ziften Technologies Closes $5.8M Series A Funding

Ziften Technologies, an Austin, Texas-based newly launched provider of software designed to tackle the problem of inefficient endpoints, has closed a $5.8m Series A funding.

Investors include Fayez Sarofim & Co. and Trellis Partners.

Led by founder and CEO Mark Obrecht, who was previously a founder of WholeSecurity, acquired by Symantec in 2005, Ziften Technologies has developed a new class of enterprise software that enables organizations to better understand and control what applications are running across the Windows desktop environment and to automatically eliminate, restrict, or accelerate them based on relative business value.

The company’s experts previously led product innovations at leading organizations such as WholeSecurity, Intel, Cisco, Dell, Akamai, Symantec, AMD, and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
