WorldStores, a Twickenham, UK-based online retailer of products for the home and garden, has raised £8.5m in funding.
The round was led by Advent Venture Partners, with participation from existing investor Balderton Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand into new categories, and to develop further its delivery and service offering.
Founded by co-CEOs Joe Murray and Richard Tucker, WorldStores currently operates 77 specialist web stores including BedroomWorld.co.uk, GardenFurnitureWorld.co.uk and ShedsWorld.co.uk.
In conjunction with the funding, Mike Chalfen, general partner at Advent, will join the board of WorldStores, alongside Mark Evans, partner at Balderton Capital.
