Verdeeco Closes $800K Series A Funding

Verdeeco, an Atlanta, GA-based smart grid data analytics startup, has closed a $800k Series A funding.

The round was led by the Atlanta Technology Angels (ATA), with particiption from the Auburn Angel Network and the Upper Carolina Angel Network.

The company intends to use the funds to facilitate the growth and adoption of its cloud-based utility data solution.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Musaddeq Khan (MK), Verdeeco provides a cloud-based platform for data aggregation and advanced analytics applications, which is designed to enable enable electric, gas and water utilities to achieve any scale smart grid deployment while reducing operational costs, increasing service reliability, boosting customer satisfaction, and driving efficiency.

The company, which is accelerating within the Georgia Tech Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), has been working with a focused group of utilities to help them aggregate and analyze data and apply the resulting intelligence to make better business decisions.

In conjunction with the funding, Jim Stratigos, Virginia Persons and Mike Eckert will join Verdeeco’s board.
