uKnow.com Raises $1M in Seed Funding

uKnow.com, an Arlington, Va.-based provider of parental intelligence systems, has raised $1m in seed funding.

Backers include the Center for Innovative Technology and other undisclosed angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue building out its parental intelligence platform and expand its marketing programs.

Founded in 2009 and led by co-founder and CEO Steve Woda, uKnow.com powers online child safety sites, enabling them to help parents protect their kids against online predators, sexting, and cyberbullying – with a special focus on the social networks and mobile phone – while supervising their children’s digital privacy and reputation.

The company’s offerings include uKnowKids.com, KidSafe.me, and SafeCyberKids.com, among others.
