Sun City Group Receives Minority Investment by Funds Managed by EdRIP

Sun City group, a French leader for licensed characters-based apparel (Mickey, Cars, Hello Kitty, etc), has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount from Winch Capital 2 fund, managed by Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners.

Following this transaction, Winch Capital 2 will hold a minority equity interest, next to group co-founders, Michel and Henri Benchetrit and Daniel and David Taieb, who remain the majority shareholders.
The banking pool was arranged by bank LCL.

Resulting from the merger in 2001 of 2 family businesses, the group has become the French leader for licensed characters-based apparel (Mickey, Cars, Toy Story, Spiderman, Hello Kitty, Strawberry Shortcake, etc), and has recently launched new activities, including:
– Sport (Euro 2012, French football team, All Black rugby team…),
– Music (Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga etc), and
– luxury (Paul & Joe, JC de Castelbajac, Disney Couture).

Sun City has generated over €68m annual revenue in 2010.
