Scratch Music Group Closes $3.3M Financing Round

Scratch Music Group, a New York-based music and technology company, has closed a$3.3m round of financing.

The round was led by Contour Venture Partners, with participation from the New York City Investment Fund (NYCIF) and angel investors Jason Finger and Todd Arky, of SeamlessWeb, and Jacob Pechenik, co-founder and CEO of YellowJacket Software.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its recently launched Scratch Weddings as well as its existing Scratch DJ Academy, Scratch Events and Scratch Software businesses.

Scratch Weddings offers couples highly personalized music choices, culturally diverse, highly talented marquee DJs, social network-enabled playlist software. It has also secured partnerships with leading national hotels, event venues, and caterers. Scratch DJ Academy MIX! is a software product designed to help aspiring DJs and music enthusiasts analyze their digital music, mix their playlists, and learn DJ basics.

Founded in 2002 and led by CEO and founder Rob Principe, Scratch Music Group has provided DJs for more than 15,000 events and over 50 national tours for top brands including MTV, Saks, Vans,Bloomingdale’s, ESPN, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Ann Taylor, Pepsi, H&M, W Hotels and others.

Scratch also has offices in Miami and Los Angeles.
