PodPonics Completes $725K Seed Funding

PodPonics, an Atlanta, GA-based innovative technology-driven urban agriculture start-up, completed a $725K seed funding round.

Backers include international private investors.

The company intends to use funding to continue to grow current operations and expand in new markets and geographies.

Established in 2010 by CEO Matt Liotta, PodPonics currently supplies more than 150 pounds of locally-grown, pesticide-free lettuce, arugula, watercress and other micro-greens per week to Atlanta restaurants and retailers.
The company uses a proprietary growing system that integrates advanced hydroponics, proprietary lighting, irrigation and nutrient technology with process control. It is designed to reduce cost, improve product quality and create local jobs while answering growing demand for locally produced, natural foods.
