Global venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA) plans to open an office in New York City.
NEA currently has U.S. offices in the Washington, D.C. region and in Menlo Park, Calif., as well as operations in Shanghai and Beijing, China, and Bangalore and Mumbai, India.
In recent years, the firm has grown its portfolio of companies in the New York region, with recent investments in companies such as Quidsi – parent company to Diapers.com (acquired by Amazon), Gilt Groupe, Lot 18, MediaBank and Moda Operandi.
The establishment of an office in New York will help NEA continue its investment activity in the region and support the current portfolio. The firm will operate out of the Chelsea area with offices at 44 West 28th Street.
