CrowdStar, a Burlingame, CA-based developer of social games on Facebook and mobile, has launched a $10m venture capital fund that will invest in innovative game creators.
The StarFund will invest in developers providing up to $250,000 in funding to develop their mobile games. It will also offer marketing and analytics resources in partnership with the Mountain View-based incubator YouWeb.
In addition, through the company’s partnerships in Asia and Europe, developers may get assistance in entering global markets.
Founded in 2008 by Suren Markosian and led by co-founder chairman and CEO Peter Relan, CrowdStar closed a $23m first round of funding from Chinese investors last May (read here).
