Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Closes $3.9M Financing Round

Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc., a Calgary, Canada-based provider of an advanced cardiovascular imaging software suite, has closed a $3.9m financing.

The round was led by the venture capital division of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), with participation from the Foundation Equity II Limited Partnership, First Yellowhead Equities Inc. and a group of Calgary-based independent investors.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop and accelerate the global commercialization of its suite.

Led by CEO Greg Ogrodnick and CSO Matthias Friedrich, MD, Circle Cardiovascular Imaging develops third party post-processing software for the cardiac imaging industry. The company’s first product, cmr42, is designed to provide physicians with the tools to diagnose complex cardiovascular diseases. It is used by hospitals in 16 different countries, evaluating over 150,000 patients to date.
