AHAlife.com Raises $6M in Funding

AHAlife.com, a New York-based online content and commerce platform for curated lifestyle products, has raised $6m in new funding.

The round was led by DCM, with participation from existing investor FirstMark Capital. This brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $9m.

AHAlife.com intends to use the new capital to develop content and technology and acquire new subscribers.

In conjunction with the funding, David Chao, co-founder and general partner at DCM, Gen Isayama, general partner at DCM, and Taek Kwon, managing member of Toro Investment Partners and former managing director of private equity firm TPG, joined the company’s board.

Led by CEO Shauna Mei, the company launched its beta site in September 2010. AHAlife.com’s products span fashion, food, beauty, tech, travel, accessories, home décor, and specialized experiences.
Curators include Tim Gunn, Donna Karan, chef Daniel Boulud, filmmaker Wendi Murdoch, make-up artist Carmindy, model Petra Nemcova, Foodspotting’s Soraya Darabi, as well as stylists, designers, and editors from top publications.
