Violin Memory Closes $40M Series C Funding Round

Violin Memory, Inc., a Mountain View, California-based provider of Memory Arrays for enterprise data centers, closed a $40m Series C funding round.

Participants in the round include existing shareholders and new large public companiesin the computer industry.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and expansion in Europe and Asia.

Founded in 2005 and led by CEO Don Basile, Violin Memory provides advanced silicon storage systems that are designed to accelerate business critical applications and enable enterprises to virtualize and optimize their IT infrastructures.
