Tintri Closes $18M Series C Funding

Tintri, Inc., a Mountain View, California-based producer of VM-aware storage appliances, has closed an $18m Series C funding.

The round was led by existing investors NEA and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funding to accelerate its research and development schedule and invest in regional sales.

Founded in 2008 by CEO Kieran Harty, Tintri produces a purpose-built storage appliance (VMstore) exclusively intended for virtual machines, and designed to allow enterprises to overcome storage-centric bottlenecks and broaden their virtual deployments.

  • Tintri announced the second generation of Tintri VMstore™, which will be available in Q4 2011. According to a written statement, the new version of Tintri VMstore will include intuitive visualization of VM performance bottlenecks and VM auto-alignment.
    The company will offer live demos of the new product at VMworld 2011.
