Telltale Games Closes $7M Series C Funding Round

Telltale Games, a San Rafael, CA-based independent digital publisher of “cinematic” games, has closed a $7m Series C funding round.

Investors include IDG Ventures, Granite Ventures and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to launch new products and enhance its multi-platform publishing infrastructure, with a particular focus on connected consumer technologies.

Founded in 2004 and led by CEO Dan Connors, Telltale Games produces episodic, cinematic games focused on narrative and character (, which are published digitally via its own retailing platform and on all major retailers’ PC, console and handheld devices (PlayStation 3 system, PC, Mac, Wii™, Xbox 360™ and iPad).

Telltale, which released Back To The Future: The Game, in December 2010, will soon launch other titles including Jurassic Park: The Game, The Walking Dead ( new game based on a Law & Order television franchise), King’s Quest, and Fables.
