Taykey Closes $9M Series B Funding

Taykey, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based company that operates a newly launched online advertising platform, has closed a $9m Series B Funding.

Investors include Sequoia Capital, Softbank Capital and Crescent Point.

The company intends to use the new capital to hire additional engineers in Tel Aviv, and to build out the New York City-based sales team.

Founded in 2008 by by three intelligence alumni of the Israeli Defense Ministry, and led by one of them, CEO Amit Avner, Taykey is a trend-based, social media advertising platform that uses a patent-pending technology to discover emerging trends and consumer conversations across various social media platforms to identify audiences’ real-time interests and predict online behaviour and help advertisers deliver their messages to interested audiences – resulting in more effective campaigns.

Prior to launch, the company worked with Pepsi to drive awareness and participation for an idea-funding competition called the Pepsi Refresh Project.
