OpenChime Receives $700K in funding from Lightbank

OpenChime, a Chicago, IL-based that service that connects local service providers with consumers, has received $700k in funding from Lightbank.

Launched in 2010 by MIT graduates Erdem Kiciman (CEO) and Kale McNaney, OpenChime allows users to receive valid quotes on and book services including handymen, cleaning, personal training, catering from local business owners.

The network today includes over 1.8m local service providers in hundreds of cities across the United States.

Lightbank is the investment fund founded by Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell that focuses on early-stage technology companies.
