Digital Assent Raises $7.5m in Series B Funding

Digital Assent, an Atlanta, GA-based provider of a patient check-in and patient education solution, has raised $7.5m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Sanan Private Equity, BIP Opportunities Fund and Buckhead Investment Partners, with participation from existing investors Imlay Investments and BLH Venture.

The company intends to use the funding to expand its sales, marketing and product development efforts.

Founded in 2009 and led by president and CEO Andrew Ibbotson, Digital Assent provides PatientPad, a wireless touch-screen solution that is designed to automate the patient check-in process and deliver targeted health information and advertising to interested patients.

Since January, the company has sold nearly 1,500 PatientPads to 175 practices in 25 states and plans to launch in all major metropolitan markets nationwide including Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco and Washington D.C. by the end of the year. Digital Assent will hire additional field representatives and other staff to support the national roll-out.
