Cotendo Completes $17m Funding

Cotendo, a Sunnyvale, CA-based provider of a web and mobile acceleration services suite, completed a $17m funding round.

The company aims to use the funds for technology development and global expansion into new markets and regions including Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

Participants in the round include new strategic investors Citrix Systems and Juniper Networks (through its Junos® Innovation Fund), and existing shareholders Sequoia, Benchmark and Tenaya Capital.

Citrix and Juniper have joined Cotendo’s strategic partners, including AT&T, Google and Sumitomo.

Led by CEO and Co-founder Ronni Zehavi, Cotendo provides enterprise customers, service providers and network operators with an integrated suite of Web and Mobile Acceleration Services from 30 global distributed point of presence (POPs).
The company’s single platform software allows acceleration services for dynamic web applications, static and dynamic web content, SSL, Advanced DNS, Adaptive Image Compression, performance monitoring and automatic failover as well as real-time reports and analytics.
Cotendo also offers a distributed cloud application environment called Cloudlet that allows decision-making (logic, data) close to the end users.
