BuildFax, an Austin, Texas- and Asheville, North Carolina-based developer of a national database of historical building permit data, has closed a $4m funding.
The round was led by DMGI, with participation from Environmental Data Resources Inc. (EDR).
The funding, which brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $13m, will enable BuildFax to continue to expand the business.
A division of BUILDERadius, the company has created a proprietary property intelligence engine that contains building and permitting information from more than 4,000 cities and counties throughout the country.
Companies in the insurance, financial services, inspection, and appraisal industry as well as buyers and sellers of property use the database in their assessment and decision-making processes.
Led by President Holly Tachovsky, BuildFax has signed distribution partnerships with DataVerify, DISCERN, e2Value, Equifax and RMS.
