Alliance Health Networks Raises $11M in Funding

Alliance Health Networks, a Salt Lake City, UT-based developer of condition-specific social networks, has raised $11m in funding.

The round was led by New World Ventures, with participation from new investor, Physic Ventures and existing shareholders Highway 12 Ventures and Epic Ventures.

The company intends to use the funding to grow its current portfolio of social networks, enhance its mobile platform and online tools and expand its New York office.

Founded in 2006, Alliance Health Networks currently owns and operates 37 social networks (built across 37 health conditions) and has more than 750,000 registered members. The company’s sites are designed to enable patients and caregivers to form relationships, engage in conversations, share treatments and comment on services and products.
Its flagship site, Diabetic Connect, focuses on people affected by diabetes.

To date Alliance Health Networks has also released eight mobile versions on the Apple iOS platform.
