Unsocial Closes Seed Financing Round

Unsocial, a location based business networking tool that enables people to find each other based on search criteria and proximity and network in real time at conferences, tradeshows and events, has closed its first seed financing round of undisclosed amount.

This round, which includes individual investors, will allow the company to continue to expand its functionality, including updates to its integration with LinkedIn.

Led by co-founder and CEO Bruce Brown and a product by Thousand Oaks-based Apptango, Unsocial is a multi-platform mobile application that uses a proprietary location based platform engine with smart tagging technology to help create flash communities using a mobile device.
It is designed specifically to provides a means for conference, event, and tradeshow attendees to more easily and quickly discover relevant contacts and updated event logistics, including the conference agenda, speaker bios, session schedules, Facebook and Twitter streams, and real-time event notifications.
The app is available on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry in 17 major U.S. cities.

According to a written statement, the company is preparing to raise a Series A funding.
