Alpine Data Labs Raises $7.5M

Alpine Data Labs, a San Mateo, CA-based developer of big data predictive insight solutions, has raised $7.5m in funding.

Investors include Sierra Ventures, Mission Ventures and Sumitomo Corporation Equity Asia.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its development and sales efforts as well as increase its staff in China and the US.

Led by CEO and Co-Founder Anderson Wong, Alpine Data Labs has developed a solution that is designed to enable companies to achieve easier and less complex predictive insights from the massive datasets.

According to a written statement, the company’s board now includes Tim Guleri, Managing Director of Sierra Ventures; Leo Spiegel, Managing Partner at Mission Ventures; and Scott Yara, Vice President of Products in EMC’s Data Computing Division and Co-Founder of Greenplum.
