Acciona Aparcamientos, a Spanish car park operator, has been acquired by EQT Infrastructure from Spanish infrastructure and renewable energy group Acciona S.A.
The transaction will be financed by a combination of equity and debt, and EQT Infrastructure will, together with the Board of Directors and management, own 100% of the equity interests in Acciona Aparcamientos. The investment, which is subject to antitrust approvals, is expected to close in July 2011.
The acquisition will support the company’s further growth organically and through acquisitions.
Acciona Aparcamientos currently manages 29 operational car parks in Spain, including mainland Spain, the Canary and Balearic islands, and Andorra.
In conjunction with the investment, Fernando Conte will be appointed Chairman of the Board, which will also include Rafael Miranda. Both Conte and Miranda are members of the EQT network of Industrial Advisors.
