Spanning Cloud Apps Raises $2M from Foundry Group

Spanning Cloud Apps, an Austin, Texas-based cloud-based application developer, has raised $2m in funding from Foundry Group.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its portfolio of cloud products for Google Apps and accelerate development of complementary solutions for other major cloud service providers.
In conjunction with the funding, Seth Levine, Managing Director at the Foundry Group, has joined Spanning Cloud Apps’ board of directors.
The company, which spun out from Spanning Sync, Inc., is led by founder and CEO Charlie Wood. Its flasghip product, Spanning Backup, provides backup and restore functionality for Google Apps users and administrators.
