Shiny Ads Closes Seed Funding

Shiny Ads, a Toronto, Canada-based advertising technology company that focuses on helping online publishers maximize revenue from advertisers of all sizes, recently closed a seed funding of undisclosed amount.
The round was led by two angel networks in the greater Toronto area – Maple Leaf Angels and York Angels, with participation from individual investors from the digital media industry.
The funds are being used to grow the team and the company has already added veterans like Zunaid Khan, VP of Business Development and Sales.
In conjunction with the funding, James Prudhomme, a Digital Media executive, Scott MacCannell, founding President of York Angels, and Robert Koturbash, founding Managing Director of the Maple Leaf Angels, have joined the company’s board.
Founded in May 2009 by President Roy Pereira, Shiny Ads offers a self-serve advertising platform that enables publishers to control the entire ad purchasing process. It is also designed to allow small and local advertisers to quickly purchase advertising without the need for industry knowledge, graphic designers, or a large budget.
Customers include deviantART.com.
