IO Turbine Raises $7.75M in Funding

IO Turbine, Inc., a San Jose, CA-based early-stage company developing a software solution to address I/O bottleneck issues by using Flash technology directly in VMware server environments, has secured $7.75m in funding.
Investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Merus Capital and angel investors.
IO Turbine is designed to allow users to transparently identify the highest priority data and utilize Flash to deliver IOPS directly to all designated virtual machines that require high performance.
Founded by executive managers with decades of experience in the high tech industry, IO Turbine is led by Rich Boberg (CEO) and Vikram Joshi (CTO). Other executives include Sunil Joshi, Executive Vice President of Engineering, Bruce Clarke, Vice President of Technical Marketing and Support and Jay Phillips, Vice President of Sales.
