Digitalsmiths, a Durham, N.C.-based company that develops video search and discovery products, has closed a $12.5m Series C financing.
The round was led by Technicolor, with participation from existing investors .406 Ventures, Aurora Funds, Chrysalis Ventures, Capitol Broadcasting and Cisco.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate domestic and international sales of its products that are designed to improve search, recommendation and overall discovery capabilities of video content owners, live event producers or digital, cable and satellite operators.
Led by CEO and Co-Founder Ben Weinberger, Digitalsmiths has served Hollywood studios, broadcasters, distributors and publishers including Warner Bros., Turner, The CW Network, Paramount, Telepictures and others.
