Clean Mobile AG, a Unterhaching (Munich area), Germany-based provider of highly efficient drive train systems for light electric vehicles (LEVs), has completed a €7.7m Series B financing.
Investors include existing backers Earlybird Venture Capital, Capital-E, High-Tech Gründerfonds and SVTG Silicon Valley Technology Group, which have been joined by the iwis Group-Joh. Winklhofer Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG.
Clean Mobile intends to use the new funds to further develop and expand and roll out its “Harmonic Chain Drive” drive line designed for e-bikes and pedelecs.
Founded in 2006 by CEO Werner Gruber, the company markets its products to OEM vehicle manufacturers worldwide and employs 30 professionals.
iwis, which has acquired an approximately 10% stake of Clean Mobile, will be a production partner for the company’s electric drive trains. The cooperation agreement will allow Clean Mobile to receive access to iwis’ global marketing and production networks, consisting of automotive manufacturers and industrial enterprises and iwis to take a major step towards e-mobility.
