CI Capital Partners, a New York City-based private equity firm, held the final close of its second fund at $620m in commitments.
CI Capital Investors II, L.P. which exceeded its target of $500m, was subscribed by the firm’s founding principals and major financial institutions, including insurance companies, banks and fund managers, pension funds of Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 companies, charitable foundations, family offices, and university endowments.
The fund aims to invest in middle-market businesses in industries with strong consolidation potential in order to accelerate their growth organically and through strategic acquisitions.
Founded in 1993, CI Capital is led by Frederick J. Iseman, Chairman and CEO, and Steven M. Lefkowitz, President.
The fund has already made two investments:
– Tech Air, a distributor of industrial, specialty and medical gases
– Transplace, a provider of non-asset based third party logistics.
