Bit9 Inc., a Waltham, MA-based provider of Advanced Endpoint Protection solutions, has raised $12.5m in funding.
The round was led by founding investor Atlas Venture, with participation from existing backers Highland Capital Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and .406 Ventures and new shareholder Paul Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to develop new products and accelerate its marketing and sales efforts to expand in Europe.
Bit9’s technology enables financial services, retail, healthcare, e-commerce and education businesses and government and defense organizations to protect their IT assets, sensitive financial and customer data and their reputations across their endpoints (laptops, desktops, servers and kiosks) from sophisticated cyber-attacks such as modern malware, targeted attacks and Advanced Persistent Threats.
Led by CEO Patrick Morley, the company also operates an office in London, UK.
