Bamboom Labs, a New York, NY-based provider of infrastructure technologies designed to allow consumers access to live TV over the Internet, has raised $4.5m in seed funding.
The round was led by FirstMark Capital, with participation from High Line Venture Partners, SV Angel/Ron Conway, First Round Capital, and Highland Capital Partners.
In conjunction with the financing, Amish Jani, Managing Director at FirstMark Capital, will join the company’s Board of Directors.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Chaitanya “Chet” Kanojia, Bamboom Labs has developed a technology that allows customers to access live free over-the-air television over the Internet, and direct it to IP-enabled devices on their own terms.
The company is currently working with early members of a closed Beta.
