Opinionaided Closes $1M Funding Round

Opinionaided, a New York, NY-based mobile free application designed to allow consumers to get advice and opinions in real-time, closed a $1m funding round.
Investors include:
– prominent angel investors such as Mark Wachen, Jonah Goodhart, ENIAC Ventures and Vince Monical, and
– institutional venture capitalists such as General Catalyst, SoftBank Capital and Draper Fisher Jurvetson
It adds to the $275k angel round raised by the start up in 2010 (read the news).
The company intends to use the funds to grow its mobile question and answer community and expand to other mobile platforms beyond Apple (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad).
Through the app, users chose a question and associated image, determine the category and demographic for their question and submit it for other users to answer. They can see results categorized by the percentage that responded positively or negatively as well as listing separately all the user comments.
From there users can reply back to the comments or create a new question.
Opinionaided, which is led by CEO Dan Kurani, recently launched version 3.0 of its iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch app, wich adds the ability to further customize the voting process by filtering questions by gender and simplifies the way users ask questions directly to their friends.
