8thBridge Raises $10M in Series B Funding

8thBridge, Inc. (formerly knows as Alvenda), a Minneapolis MN-based social commerce platform that merchants use to create social shopping experiences for their customers, has raised $10m in series B funding.
The round was led by Trident Capital, with participation from lead Series A investor Split Rock Partners.
The company intends to use the capital to expand current operations and enhance its technology platform, 8thBridge StoreCast™, which powers in-stream shopping experiences that include a quick checkout feature inside Facebook’s News Feed and Fan Pages.
Founded in 2008 by CEO Wade Gerten, 8thBridge serves merchants including 1-800-Flowers.com, Lands’ End, Brooks Brothers, Delta Air Lines, Hallmark, HauteLook and Avon’s division mark.
In conjunction with the funding, Evangelos Simoudis, Managing Director of Trident Capital, has joined the company’s board of directors.
