TuneUp Media Raises $2M in Series C Funding

TuneUp Media, the San Francisco, CA-based publisher of a plug-in for iTunes, called TuneUp, has held a $2m second close of its Series C funding.
This close brings the total for the round to $6.3m.
The funding, which was provided by existing investor IDG Ventures, will be used to develop a suite of new products, build out the team and increase marketing spend.
The company has raised $8.5m to date.
TuneUp Media also added Greg Nuyens as CTO and Tim Mitchell as VP of Product Management.
Founded by CEO Gabriel Adiv, the company created TuneUp, which offers digital music management and music discovery tools that allows users to interact with their digital library through an acoustic fingerprint technology and a growing suite of features including artist bios and news, music videos, personalized concert alerts and Twitter and Facebook integration.
