Funium, a San Francisco, CA-based Facebook games developer, has raised $1.2m in seed funding.
The round was led by Family Odyssey, with additional participation from FamilyLink.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development and expansion of its Facebook game, Family Village , which enables players to explore their own family tree while building a virtual, online community.
It will be releases in the second quarter of 2011.
Jim Sorenson of Family Odyssey, and Paul Allen and Paul Brockbank founder and CEO of FamilyLink respectively, will join Funium’s advisory board.
The company is led by founder and CEO Jeff Wells.
