Skytap Closes $10m Series C Round of Funding

Skytap, a Seattle WA-based provider of self-service cloud automation solutions, closed an oversubscribed $10m Series C round of funding.
The round was led by OpenView Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Ignition Partners, Madrona Venture Group and Washington Research Foundation.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales and marketing efforts and accelerate innovation of its flagship cloud automation platform.
In conjunction with the financing, Scott Maxwell, senior managing director of OpenView Venture Partners, will join Skytap’s board of directors.
Launched in 2006 and led by CEO Scott Roza, Skytap has built a comprehensive cloud automation platform. It enables users to run enterprise applications in the cloud, collaborate securely with global teams, and increase business productivity. Additionally, it allows organizations to securely connect Skytap to their data centers and create virtual private clouds.
