Jinni Media Closes $5M Series B Funding Round

Jinni Media, Ltd, a Yehud, Israel-based company that operates an innovative video guide for movies and TV shows, closed a $5m series B funding round.
The round was led by strategic investors Belgacom and a Tier-1 connected-TV manufacturer, with participation from DFJ Tamir Fishman Ventures, which led Jinni’s Series A funding.
As stated by Yosi Glick, Jinni CEO and Co-founder, the new funds will allow the company to focus on developing the product.
Jinni offers a semantic guide that helps users intuitively find new content to fit their moods and personal tastes.
The company operates a free website, http://www.jinni.com, which includes semantic search, personalized recommendations, and social features, as well as integration with content providers for discovery from Jinni over the catalogs of Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, LOVEFiLM, and others.
