froodies Raises Capital in Second Round of Financing

froodies GmbH, a Düsseldorf, Germany-based online supermarket for fresh groceries, has received new capital as part of its second round of financing of undisclosed amount.
New backer High-Tech Gründerfonds and several business angels have joined initial investor Sirius Venture.
The company intends to use the funds in strategic growth and nationwide expansion.
Founded by Lutz Preußners and Kai-Uwe Reimers, froodies provides a nationwide delivery service for fresh products including fruit and vegetables, meat, sausages and cheese. The order is delivered within two to three working days via a parcel delivery service in a cooler box to ensure that goods remain fresh.
In the near future, the company wants to introduce a personal same day delivery service in many cities as it currently happens in Dortmund and Wuppertal.
