eToro Closes $8.3M Funding Round

Investment network eToro has closed an $8.3m funding round.
Investors in the round include Spark Capital, Social Leverage and existing shareholders.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate international growth and continue to develop its social trading platform. According to the company, the Spark team has already been instrumental in the development of new markets on Twitter, Boxee, 5Min, Altius Education, AdMeld, Verivue and Tumblr.
Led by CEO Johnathan Assia, eToro is considered one of the world’s largest investment network, with over 1.5 million users in over 130 countries. The network is designed to facilitate information exchange between investors, accelerate knowledge sharing and shorten time for those who want to bring their trading experience to the next level. It enables investors to see, follow and copy the actions of other investors in real time.
The company is headquartered in the British Virgin Island with an administrative office Cyprus and local offices in New York, USA, Sidney, Australia, and Dubai.
