ChaCha Raises $3M from Qualcomm Ventures

ChaCha, an Indianapolis, IN-based company that operates a real-time answers service, closed $3m of additional funding including $900,000 of outstanding warrants from new investor Qualcomm Ventures.
This extends the round led by VantagePoint Venture Partners and Rho Ventures in October 2010 and brings the total amount the company has raised since inception 5 years ago to approximately $75m. 
As stated by Scott Jones, ChaCha’s co-founder and CEO, the investment will help the company continue to expand its service worldwide.
Using its “ask-a-smart-friend” platform, ChaCha provides answers via online, SMS text, Twitter, Facebook app, iPhone app, Android app, and voice. It works with major brands such as Paramount, AT&T, Palm, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Sonic.
