Caralon Global Receives First Investment from JumpStart Ventures

Caralon Global, a Cleveland, OH-based company developing and commercializing an ultra-thin, highly efficient insulation product, has received a first investment of undisclosed amount from JumpStart Ventures.
The seed funding will help the company complete life-span testing on its patent-pending vacuum insulated panel that is designed to reduce heat transfer better than traditional fiberglass or polyurethane products.
Caralon initially focus its product, called Nanotheca®, on cold storage, refrigeration and vaccine transport market segments.
In February 2010, Caralon Global received a $125,000 loan from the Cuyahoga County’s North Coast Opportunities (NCO) Technology Fund and $100,000 from various equity partners to perform thermal modeling and create master molds for the manufacturing process.
