Mobixell Networks Raises $10m in Funding

Mobixell Networks, a San Jose, CA-based provider of rich-media optimization and management solutions to mobile operators, has raised $10m in venture capital funding.
The round was led by Azini Capital, with participation from existing investors Escalate Capital, Intel Capital, and smac partners.
The company intends to use the capital to expand marketing activities for its flagship product, Mobixell Seamless Access, which provides intelligent optimization techniques for media and video, including behavioral based optimization, caching, content aware transcoding, and network aware optimization (dynamic bit rate adaptation and automatic cell congestion detection).
Commenting on the funding, Amir Aharoni, CEO and Founder of Mobixell, said: “The funding strengthens Mobixell’s financial stability assisting us in penetrating and realizing the growing markets of mobile Internet, mobile traffic management and mobile data optimization, as well as in furthering our commercial deployment worldwide”.
Founded in 2000, the company operates offices in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, India, China and Israel.
Its customer base amounts to over 350 mobile operators worldwide, including Verizon Wireless, Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange, Telecom Italia and China Mobile.
